Peanut Allergy- Insensitive parents

Today Show  (click here to see story)

I saw this on the Today show and was so disappointed by these parents and their response to a child having a severe peanut allergy. A little background if you don't watch the clip. A little girl has a severe peanut allergy and her class has to wash their hands twice a day (when school starts and after lunch) and wipe off their mouth after lunch. Parents are asking the school district where are my child's rights in all of this. They are complaining that it is taking too much time out the school day and are even protesting outside of the school. Some parents who are for the little girl and the little girl with the allergy are being kept out of school until the issue gets resolved. (Don't agree with that, but that's a different issue.)

Being in the classroom and having Calvin with his allergies I am so frustrated in hearing these parents. No wonder today's society has no respect for people. These parents are teaching their children to be anything but selfish. It doesn't take more than 5 minutes to wash hands and after lunch is usually a restroom break anyways so I am not understanding these arguments against this little girl. I feel bad for this family and I hope she wins this fight against the school. Until these negative parents walk a day in the life of having a child with allergies, I think they need to keep their negative comments to themselves. I feel if it was their child, they would be doing everything in their ability to keep their child safe, just like the parents of this little girl are doing.

Luke Air Force

This past Saturday Calvin and I went to Luke Days with Pap, Uncle Kevin, Peyton, and the Kergers. After waiting in a line for a little over an hour we finally made it inside the gates and started looking at all the planes. The Air Force was so nice and patient. They gave Calvin high fives and talked with Uncle Kevin about what to expect for his job. Uncle Kevin will be leaving in May for boot camp. We are so sad to see him leave but are so excited for his new adventure in the Air Force.

Here is Uncle Kevin in front of a refueling jet he may be working on! There was another engine that isn't in the picture. It's huge to say the least.

I wonder what this red button does?

My dad and I guessed that it is almost 20 feet high inside this aircraft.

People jump out of these planes?!

Calvin loved watching all of the planes flying over. He said Oohhh! over and over.

Making sure he staying quite for Mia who was napping.

Say Cheese!

After a long afternoon in the sun he fell asleep walking back to the car. And if you know Calvin this does not happen very often. We even passed Larry Fitzgerald on our way out. Didn't think to grab the camera, maybe next year.
