Caden - 2 months old

It has been quite the adventure the past two months at the Bewley house. We are getting into routines now and loving every minute of being a family of four! In all of the craziness, I forgot to make Caden a 1 month montage (poor second child), so there is an extra long montage that includes everything.

Caden has become one happy baby the past few weeks. Caden's tummy has been put through a lot the past two months. Around the 1 month mark, we saw small things in his mannerisms that reminded of us of how Calvin acted. We talked to the doctor and decided to mix in a little formula to see if he just wasn't tollerating my breast milk. I watched what I ate and cut out a lot of dairy and there was still something that was triggering an irratiblitiy. The formula seemed to give him more relief so we tried a sensitive formula. In the mix of all of this, Caden was battling constipation issues. We went back to the doctor two times after trying at home remidies to have him go to the bathroom. After talking again to the doctor we decided that hypoallergenic formula would be the next best step. Caden was still showing signs of an allergy but there was never blood in his stool. Instead of getting to that point, if ever there would have been blood, we decided to try it out. Well what do you know, Caden became calm and happy! All constipation issues are gone as well. We will find out when we start to introduce food if an allergy is present.

Caden is nothing like his big bother in the weight department. He is one long and lean little boy! He is slowly starting to get chubby again. We are thinking with the formula and now finally being comfortable he may put on a few pounds. At his 2 month check up he weighed 10.2 pounds.

Life as a Big Brother

What's the role of a Big Brother?

-To read stories to Caden and
make sure his pacifier doesn't fall out (Phew!)

The Many Talents of Calvin

Besides trains, trucks, and music, Buzz ranks right up there in the top of Calvin's favorite things. Pap found these amazing Buzz wings at a garage sale. There is endless joy in these 2 dollars! Calvin loves it when you pick him up and fly him around the house. Or he will fly around the house on his own using his "jet pack". Buzz protects us from Zerg and bad guys. Mommy get to play as Jessie and Daddy gets to be Woody or Bullseye (a horse) when Calvin wants to be Woody. It is so much fun to see Calvin in his pretend play. He is getting more and more creative.

When our house is not filled with the sounds of trucks being driven on the floor or Buzz flying around our house, we get to hear the sweet sound of Calvin playing instruments or singing. (At times the sound of the instruments are not so sweet.) Calvin plays the drums, guitar, piano and any other object that can get to make noise. This multi talented artist even creates his own songs, including his newest hit Police Car Daddy. Calvin loves singing songs from church or ones that we have taught him. He sings ABC's to Caden and Happy Birthday to anyone who is having a birthday or not. Here is a clip of Calvin singing You are My Sunshine.
