Happy Easter

Calvin woke us up bright and early Easter morning wanting to go to "car-car and ausee house" aka Connor and Aubree's house. Bryon and I told him today was Easter and what it meant. Then we explained how the Easter Bunny comes to kids' houses and brings surprises. We went into his room and told him to look for his Easter basket. He kept telling us "Where is it?" and "Not here" after a little prompting he finally found it. And as you see it wasn't very well hidden. :) After opening his basket I sent Bryon on a little egg hunt of his own around the house. Then it was oatmeal muffins and fruit for breakfast. Calvin enjoyed the fruit and decided to make quite the mess by biting the blackberries in half.

"Where is it?"

Finally he found it!

We got ready to go to Troy and Alison's house to celebrate the day with family. Calvin decided to put all of his new toys in his dump truck and bring it into my bathroom to play while I was getting ready. I can't stand the little blue plastic strings that you use to put in the Easter baskets. They go everywhere and that it exactly what Calvin had them doing. He had a lot of fun though. I had to suffer though it but he was so happy.

The dreaded blue stringy stuff

At Troy and Alison's house we had a delicious lunch and a fun Easter egg hunt for the kids. Calvin finally got the hang of searching for eggs at the end. We took some family pictures then it was time to play cards. I had some pretty good contractions and thought just maybe I would go into labor that night. Well...here I am typing this morning so no such luck.

soon to be family of 4!

Baby Showers Rock 'N Roll Style

Caden was given not one but two Rock 'N Roll themed baby showers. We had the first shower March 4th from Grandma Bewley. After a slight delay from cousin Wyatt's early arrival we had the second shower April 1st from Grammie and Auntie. ( I was greatly disappointed I didn't have any big contractions to trick people at the shower. That would have been pretty funny.)

Grandma Bewley's shower:
There was so much good food. She even made cheese dip, my ultimate weakness! We played name that tune, chatted with family, gifts, and we asked that everyone fill out "Wishes for Caden" so I can put it in his scrapbook. We got a lot of very nice gifts and gift cards to purchase things for Caden. We are starting to think the boys will be in opposite seasons of clothes. :(  I also got some very special handmade gifts from Aunt Alison and Cousin Tawnya.

Bryon's surprise to me! He made it all by himself for Caden :)

Grammie and Auntie's shower-

We had the shower at my house so people could see Caden's room. Little Wyatt got us all distracted and we forgot to take picture the first half of the shower. It was another shower of delicious food. They even got bruschetta from Olive Garden, another craving of mine. We played a Mad Libs game of pregnancy, opened gifts, and ate lots of yummy desserts. We received a lot of gift cards, diapers, and wipes. Calvin had a great time helping me open gifts until he found the box of diapers and pens. Then it was time to rock out on the drums for everyone.

Katie made the letter's for Caden to put up over his crib.

A big thank you to Denise, my Mom, and Katie for two great showers. Caden is so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family join us in celebrating his soon arrival!
