Officer in Training

We decided to meet Daddy for lunch last week at his station so Calvin could sit in his police truck. (Bryon drives the Tahoe so Calvin calls it a police truck and not car) Little did we know that Peoria police would be using the parking lot as their meeting point before serving a warrant. They had their big armored truck, command vehicle, and half a dozen or so police cars. Calvin and Bryon walked through their armored truck. Then we went and saw Daddy's search warrant van. It was nothing like the armored truck but Calvin didn't care. Bryon had Calvin try on his warrant gear while I took pictures. Calvin's face had the biggest smile as he watched Daddy with his gear. The helmet was so heavy that if Calvin tilted his head he had to have help lifting his head back up.
After we messed around with the warrant gear we went and sat in Daddy's truck. Calvin enjoyed pressing buttons on the computer and even tried talking on the radio. And if that wasn't exciting enough, Calvin even got to sit in the new Polaris rhino. Daddy hasn't even been able to sit in it yet. They are going to have a lot of fun patrolling the river bottoms in it.  Before we left Daddy did one last thing and turned on the lights for Calvin. Calvin had a great time and was sad we had to leave. He talked about the police truck the whole way home.

Mommy even got to join in on the fun.
